The application imports currency rate data in real time and monitors active trades, notifying the user when trigger points are reached. It provides foreign exchange traders with a range of calculators to cover common trading strategies. Used consistently, the Forex Calculator helps minimise risk.

The challenges
Version one retrieved live currency rate data and added trigger points and notifications across concurrent trades. Version two replicated this functionality across multiple client accounts and retrieved equity for those accounts in real time.
The software
Version two of the Forex Calculator is the most technically complex piece of software I’ve developed on my own. I’m particularly proud of its architecture; multiple independent subsystems coupled by a messaging framework.
